Elana Johnson's ELEVATED Cover Reveal

My good friend and neighbor is releasing her new book soon! Ack! I love her and I love her books! It is a YA comtemporary novel called ELEVATED and it will be released on February 18th. I've read three of her previous books and absolutely loved them. Here is the info. you'll want to know... and don't forget to head over to her blog to enter a $15 Paypal cash giveaway!

About ELEVATED:

The last person seventeen-year-old Eleanor Livingston wants to see on the elevator—let alone get stuck with—is her ex-boyfriend Travis, the guy she's been avoiding for five months. Plagued with the belief that when she speaks the truth, bad things happen, Elly hasn’t told Trav anything. Not why she broke up with him and cut off all contact. Not what happened the day her father returned from his deployment to Afghanistan. And certainly not that she misses him and still thinks about him everyday. But with nowhere to hide and Travis so close it hurts, Elly’s worried she won’t be able to contain her secrets for long. She’s terrified of finally revealing the truth, because she can’t bear to watch a tragedy befall the boy she still loves.

New Chalk Print Giveaway

I'm a big fan of getting free stuff but I'm not a big fan of entering a million different contests for a chance to win. This one is easy. Become a fan of my facebook page here and comment on the link to this blog post. All commenters will be entered for a chance to win through a random drawing. I'll mail the lucky winner these two brand spanking new art prints. Okay. Some of you have seen the "Be the Good" print before and it is available in my Etsy Shop with your choice of solid colors. This chalk background is a first for me. I hope you love it as much as I do! The "Love at Home" print was designed today just for this little contest. It will join the others in my shop soon. As always, proceeds go to our adoption fund.

Everything & Nothing Piano Music CD

My husband is truly amazing. Aaron can do pretty much anything creative and music happens to be one of his specialties. He has always loved arranging music and this year for my birthday he composed three sonatas which are included in this album. This is his very first published album of music!

I'm really picky when it comes to music. I was driving alone one day (which is a rare occasion when you usually run errands with little kids chatting in the back of the car) and I was listening to this CD of piano music. I was on the verge of tears because it was so beautiful. Anyone who knows me well would know that this is not my normal reaction. I was so impressed with the variation of music and the uplifting and emotional feeling it left me with. We recently came home from a road trip and we listened to this music for nearly half of the 30+ hours we spent in the car. It never grew old even with my picky taste.

I love it and I hope you do to. It is available for purchase on Amazon and all of the proceeds go straight to our adoption fund. Only 4,000 MP3 sales of the album will help us reach our goal of $25,000. We always appreciate your support and your willingness to share with friends and family.

Adoption Fundraiser

This is why I do what I do. Family. Shortly after adopting our second child, I started my Trendography Prints business to help pay for the cost of adoption fees. Coming in at around $25,000 for each adoption, it took every penny we could find to make it happen. It has been a great three years and now our kids are getting older and we find ourselves longing to add another child to our family. We tried the fertility route a few times during our nearly ten years of marriage but we keep coming back to adoption. Apparently that is what we are supposed to be doing but the daunting task of finding an extra 25 grand while paying off school loans and living in our little condo seems nearly impossible. I succumbed to the pity party bandwagon for a short time before I jumped off running and revamped my business this year. I have my own printer with archival ink and the prints look fabulous on heavyweight cotton card stock. I finished my nursery rhyme book at the beginning of the year as well. Every penny we make from the sale of prints and books helps us get one step closer to being able to adopt again. We only need to sell 3500 prints or 10,000 books to reach our goal. We appreciate your support in helping us get there. Plus you get the bonus of having a fabulous product in your home!

Happy Fourth Freebie

I'm so thankful to live in a country with such great freedom. We are truly blessed. To celebrate today, we went to the swimming pool and had the pool to ourselves while everyone else in the valley was probably at the parade. It was splendid. The kids always love when Daddy gets to come with us and I love it because I got a chance to sit out and soak up the sun. We all took naps after lunch and made cookies this afternoon to get ready for the big fireworks show tonight. This is going to be our first year taking the kids out since they usually go to bed at 7:00 pm. We'll see how it goes! They're big kids now after all since Addie is five and Asher is three. Yikes. They're growing up fast. Let's not think about that, but let's for sure remember how awesome it is to live in America. This "I Heart America" print is free for you to download and print on your home computer or at your favorite local print shop. It is an 8x10 format and I print everything on 8 1/2 x 11 inch card stock so it is easy to mat and frame. There are a lot of other prints in my Trendography Prints shop so you can check those out too. All proceeds go to our adoption fund. We have a goal of selling 3500 prints so we can adopt again next year! We appreciate your support.

35 Color Options

My prints are back and better than ever. Not only are they printed on an amazing cotton card stock, but there are more colors to choose from now as well. I'm really picky when it comes to paper and color. I went through about fifty different drafts before deciding on a color palette. This was partly because of my color deficiency otherwise known as color blindness. I like to think of it as an opportunity to be bolder than most people in my color choices. Really though, I would print out a page and look at it in natural light and then wait for my husband to come home from work to tell me what adjustments needed to be made. It took a long time for me to decide but it was worth the wait.

The best thing about having color options for your wall art is being able to pick out something you normally wouldn't be able to find. I love that a friend of mine picked out a pink robot for her daughter's bedroom. Goodbye stereotypes. Hello colors. This is a photo of the color options when printed out. They are closer to the actual colors than the digital version. Each computer will display them slightly differently depending on your settings though so be aware that your print may look slightly different when it arrives in the mail. Pick your print. Choose a color. I handle all of the printing, packaging and shipping. When it arrives, you can mat it, frame it and hang it. Enjoy!
